The Kingston edition of the “Wash For Life” came together at just about the last minute largely through the determined efforts of Veronica Maruda, who has the valuable incapacity to hear and understand the phrases “could not”, “can not”, “do not”, and the word “NO”.
This, the first annual car “Wash For Life” was held nationwide Saturday, September 16th (there were 198 carwashes in 41 states).
“Pro-life Youth of Kitsap County” (including 8 youth and 11 adults) washed cars for nearly 6 hours and earned $400.00 for our local Pregnancy Resource Centers!
Although this year our only location was in Kingston, since that was the only locale we could get on such short notice, a good goal for “Wash For Life - 2007” would be to have at least one car wash in each community where there is a Pregnancy Resource Center - Poulsbo, Silverdale, and Bremerton.
Many thanks to our Youth:  Will, Hugh, Connie, Hannah, Sean, Abrahm, Chris, and Ryan. And to our adults:  Bliss, Glenn, Lori, Sara, Suzan, Jack, David, Paul, Mark and Dion. They gave their talents in making signs, holding signs, washing cars, making hand-outs, handing out PRC brochures, supplying materials, providing nourishment and an over-all good time!  A special thank you to all our prayer-warriors and well wishers who could not attend.  And, most importantly, thanks to all the folks who stopped by to donate to Pregnancy Resource Centers by having their cars (and 1 big-rig!) washed by our humble hands.  May our prayers include each of them as well, and the lives that will be touched by their generosity.
Don't forget:  Go to www.WashForLife.org to check out the results of the first nation-wide car “Wash For Life” efforts, as they come pouring in on behalf of mothers and babies throughout our country!

Smiley guided them in...This odd character showed up with a constant smile on her/his/its face.  “Smiley” helped to guide the weary weekend ferry boat travelers with dirty cars, who ply the congestion of Bond Road, to a new and cleaner horizon.

Young and very young car washers! As you can see from this picture, on this blissful day, it was a multi-generational affair, the sky turning from hues of gray to blue, as we accomplished God’s will in helping to save women and their unborn babies.

RinsingRinsing and sometimes towel drying was an important part of the job.  No spots allowed!

Getting the job done!Youth and adults collaborated for the best washing results.  Of course the youth did all the real work.  Adults in this picture are probably just doing the follow-up detailed quality control inspection.

No job is too BIG!Hey... we wash all sizes, from that little Smart Car to the Big Rigs.  No job is too BIG!
