- MARCH 4, 2007 — KITSAP SUN PRINTS STORY ABOUT 40DFL CAMPAIGN
With the odd headline, “Anti-Abortion Vigil May Spur Giving to Planned Parenthood,” the Kitsap Sun finally acknowledged the 40 Days for Life Campaign on page 2 of section A of the Sunday, March 4th paper. So, far as we are aware there has been no coverage in the Kitsap Group Newspaper (Bainbridge Review, NK Herald, Central Kitsap Reporter, Bremerton Patriot, Port Orchard Independent). With the exception of the headline in the Kitsap Sun article, which refers to Planned Parenthood’s cynical approach to fundraising (see “Rejoice! Persecution is Ours!” below), the story was reasonably balanced. With quotes from Jack McGowan, president of KHL, the article addresses - in exceeding brevity - a few of the tenets of the “Life Principles.” [link to article]
- MARCH 1, 2007 — REJOICE! PERSECUTION IS OURS!
Planned Parenthood of Western Washington has added their Bremerton facility to their “Pledge-A-Picketer” program. This is a cynical program that clearly demonstrates the evil power behind this corrupt organization. It is designed both to raise funds for PP and to discourage Vigil participants by making them feel as though their efforts are actually assisting the enemy. Those who support PP are asked to donate because of the increased Vigil activity. You can expect to soon see a banner outside of the PP facility showing what they say is the money that your participation in the Vigil has raised for PP. DO NOT BECOME DISCOURAGED — BUT REJOICE IN THIS PERSECUTION! Now is the time for the silent majority of Kitsap County to rise up in support of the unborn and the most basic of all our rights as human beings - the Right to Life. Join with us in utilizing the four powerful tools in the arsenal of this grass-roots effort: Prayer & Expressions of Concern, Fasting, Outreach, and Vigil. It is an unfortunate fact that in order to make progress against our formidable enemy, it takes time, and it takes money. As part of the Outreach portion of the 40DFL campaign, please write the local newspapers with letters to the editor [links to online newspaper forms], and log on to www.kitsapsun.com to add your voice to the blogs that address recent letters to the editor. We also invite you to consider making a one-time or ongoing donation to the cause...

Every year, Planned Parenthood receives more than $272 million in your tax dollars. The result is the killing of more than 250,000 of the silent and helpless unborn. With provision of your name, phone number, and email address we will provide a link to an online petition drive to end this funding.

T E N Reasons To Avoid Planned Parenthood:
- O N E
Planned Parenthood = Abortion. In 2005 (the latest year for which information is available), Planned Parenthood of Western Washington performed 7,022 abortions.
- T W O
Planned Parenthood Hurts Women. In 2005 these 7,022 abortions permanently injured 7,022 women. Some of the injuries were physical. But many of these women will
only realize their psychic and spiritual injuries years from now —
and some never will.

Planned Parenthood Doesn’t Have a Local Doctor. The local Bremerton office of Planned Parenthood kills unborn children and permanently injures women on Thursdays with a doctor that comes in for the express purpose of performing the act.

Planned Parenthood Condoms are Ranked Dead Last. Condoms typically have a 16% failure rate and according to CR Magazine, Planned Parenthood’s condoms were ranked dead last in a recent review, with “poor” ratings in both strength and reliability. Condoms are risky as it is... using Planned Parenthood’s poorly rated condoms is asking for trouble.

Planned Parenthood Distributes Medical Misinformation. Planned Parenthood continues to misrepresent its morning-after abortion pill to women by calling it “Emergency Contraception,” while failing to inform many clients they may experience early chemical abortions with the use of this drug. Get the facts for yourself before taking their word for it.

Planned Parenthood Offers NO Free Services. Many customers use Planned Parenthood because they think it's the cheapest place in town. However, women and men can receive FREE services such as pregnancy testing and STD screening at various local pregnancy centers. Contact healthcare providers that offer a better value before settling for Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood Celebrates its Racist Roots. Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, wrote, “We do not want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population,” when describing her plans for The Negro Project. She also wrote in her autobiography of the glowing reception she received when she spoke for a women’s gathering of the Klu Klux Klan. Instead of condemning the philosophies of this woman, Planned
Parenthood gives an annual award in Margaret Sanger’s honor.

Planned Parenthood Protects Sexual Predators. News
outlets reported on how Planned Parenthood has failed to report sexual
abuse of minors more than 85% of the time. These stories revealed that
in many cases, Planned Parenthood workers were coaching minors on how
to get around notification laws and offered suggestions to help keep
hidden the identity of a pedophile. Never trust an organization that
won’t protect vulnerable young women.

Planned Parenthood Wants to Profit From You. Planned Parenthood purchases the birth control pill for $1 to $2 and Plan B for $4.50. Planned Parenthood typically sells these products for $65-75 and $80 respectively, reaping enormous profits from the hefty markups. Nationally, Planned Parenthood reported a profit of $35.2 million last year alone with more than 10% of the profit being generated right here in Western Washington by Planned Parenthood of Western Washington.

Planned Parenthood Ignores Women's Healthcare. You deserve better than to simply be a source of profits for this so called non-profit organization. Vision 2025, the 25-year plan published by Planned Parenthood, never mentions the word “patient” and does not include any suggestions to improve patient care. Instead, Planned Parenthood's focus is on political policies, a radical feminist agenda, and building a larger financial base. You deserve a true healthcare provider that actually makes women’s health a priority - not a political action organization masquerading as a healthcare provider.
